Kearney, Neb. – The Tri-City Storm and Viaero Center are commencing a national search for a new President of Business Operations. As owner Kirk Brooks reflected, “I have always considered the Viaero Center and Tri-City Storm as part of the fabric and identity of Kearney and the Tri-City area. Our ownership, staff and players continue to put in their best efforts to deliver a hockey team, facility and events calendar that our community can be proud of. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader that can help us drive that vision forward.”
The search began as a result of the departure of Monte Dakan from the company. “Monte and I agreed that our visions for the best way to move the team and Viaero Center forward were not in alignment, and that it was best for both of us to have him step down”, added Brooks. “I know Monte gave me his best while he worked for us, and I appreciate his time and efforts on behalf of my companies and our community.”
While the search continues, Brooks has installed Scott Allegrini from his Las Vegas Ice Center operations as his interim President of Business Operations. Allegrini has a long history of hockey and facility management, and will implement the open-door and collaborative management style Brooks utilizes in his other businesses. Head Coach Billy Muckalt and Allegrini have previously worked together in junior hockey in Valencia, California, and they have maintained a close friendship for over a decade. Brooks believes these relationships with himself and Muckalt will aid in providing a smooth interim transition while the process of finding a new president continues.
