Kearney, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm has pledged to donate $5 from every $14 ticket to this weekend’s home games to local organizations battling cancer. The effort is part of Storm Fights Cancer Weekend, with Paint the Ice on Thursday, October 13, Color Out Cancer Night on Friday and Saturday’s Concrete Cares Night.
The ticket deal will be available through Saturday’s game at the box office. Fans can also become involved with the Storm at special community events on Wednesday, October 12. Tri-City will be at the Kearney Hy-Vee from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and at the Hilltop Mall from 4-6 p.m.
Storm Fights Cancer Weekend Schedule
Wednesday, Oct. 12: Storm at Kearney Hy-Vee from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and at Hilltop Mall from 4-6 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 13: Paint The Ice at the Viaero Center (free of charge, we provide brushes, paint) 5-9 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 14: Color Out Cancer Night, presented by Midway Auto Dealerships, 7:05 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 15: Concrete Cares Night, presented by Kearney Concrete, 7:05 p.m.
The ticket donation is another way the Storm hopes to help defeat cancer; Tri-City also starts its Jerseys For A Cause Program this Friday and Saturday by auctioning off specialty jerseys from Friday’s and Saturday’s games. The Storm will wear one-night-only jerseys for both games. Jerseys for a Cause has raised $23,432 over the last two years.
For the third straight year, the Storm and Midway Auto Dealerships have partnered for “Color Out Cancer” night and fans are invited to “Paint The Ice” on Thursday from 5-9 p.m., helping fans remember those affected by cancer in Central Nebraska.
The Color Out Cancer game will be held on the painted ice against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
On Saturday, Tri-City plays Lincoln on Concrete Cares Night, presented by Kearney Concrete.
